A one-day, purely experience-based educational workshop on production change. You will leave with a comprehensive knowledge of the issues and a commitment to make your workshop a reality. You will create a training record, and your own training material to guide you in your practice.

The training is done on the SMED>>PRESS simulation, a small factory on a worktable.

SMED>>PRESS

4 key techniques – 4 tools

  • Kaizen in quick changeover using the 1X technique. A new technique tested in consulting practice. Designed for quick profits.
  • SMED. A modern concept of classic technique for reducing changeover times.
  • Adjustment trains.A technique for minimizing changeovers focusing on technological, tool and process affinities, thanks to which we can reduce the size and number of adjustments.
  • Capacity management of changeovers. The product mix optimization technique aligns all 4 key techniques and minimizes losses by changing production.

How will it be done?

  1. You will work in a small group – in the middle of your table will be SMED>>PRESS.
  2. We will assign you the realization of 2 products, for each product you will have to adjust the machine. We will measure and evaluate your productivity in both setup and production of the parts.
  3. We will teach you a quick kaizen approach to changeover.
  4. We will teach you SMED. Optimized and updated to the current situation and trends in the industry. Data access and industry 4.0 is integrated.
  5. We will teach you how to analyze, build and manage adjustment trains of products. An adjustment train is a “kit” of products that goes through your workplace with minimal loss created by the adjustment.
  6. We will teach you how to plan for minimized changeover values in your flow while monitoring the work-in-process minimization parameter.

Why join us for a quick changeover training?

  • We can. And we can teach you.
  • Methodological clarity and teaching expertise.
  • Immediate practice of all techniques on a real machine.
  • Subsequent easy applicability to your practice.
  • After the training, you can rent the simulation and implement the same teaching workshop with your colleagues in your plant.
  • Without training materials, in fact without training. We will work with you and figure it out together!
  • You will leave with ideas, and motivation for your implementation.

Who the course is for

  • Factories that need to recover the wasted power of their equipment.
  • Teams that gain productivity and lower process costs by reducing product changeover time.
  • For Production and Engineering Managers – to understand how to drive optimization.
  • Adjusters, technologists – to learn how to be productive.
  • To key production personnel, trainers – to find the key topic for your next internal training.

SMED>>PRESS

25x25x25cm real mechanics on the office desk. Hand press, made of a combination of plywood and oak wood. Minimized working lifts allow for participant safety during training. The simulation is designed to match the principles of tool changing in a press station. It is a scaled-down, simplified machine allowing to train of quick changeover techniques on a real process, but at the same time safely, on a minimized scale with sophisticated visualization and learning potential.
